One Day...

One day, I am going to get back to the point that I once was....posting everyday. (Mostly because it is a good way for me to see all that I have accomplished with my life!) But until then, everyone (including me) is going to accept the fact that I am just going to post whenever I remember to post. It is that simple until.... NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TIME!! I would get an early start but, let's be honest. It's just not going to happen. I have some BIG plans for the end of the year and I am just not going to have time to post everyday, but I am going to try! That is all I need to do!
So, what has been up in the life of Sami, you may ask? Well.... Let me show you!
{As soon as the internet allows it... hehehe No one can say I didn't try.}

Crazy, Beautiful Life!

Well, it has been a while now hasn't it! Haha! Blogging has been the last thing on my mind for the past month and a half or so... but I am back...for now. So, here is the update:

I turned 21! Not that big of deal. Being 21 is definitely over-rated. But I am another year older and not anymore grown up! ;) Well, I went mini golfing for my birthday with some of my friends! It was a blast! (it was also pretty cold.)

Then I got all ready to head to Jackson Hole.( P.S. I am a certified minibus driver now!) I, and a group of Peer Mentors, had planned a huge trip to Yellowstone, but then the government shut down and they took Yellowstone down with them. That was a bummer. So many of our residents dropped the trip when they learned that we weren't going to Yellowstone.  I was pretty sad too, but we, the Peer Mentors, scurried to plan an entirely new trip.
We spent many late nights planning and almost everyday for a month calling people and making sure this trip would be equally as fun! (And it was!) Then the government opened again the day before, but we stuck to our new plan and went to Jackson Hole. That was pretty fun! I can't believe we had as much fun as we did and we didn't even have any huge problems! It was a miracle!! We went into the Grand Teton National Park! It was beautiful! I had never been there so I can now cross that one off my list of places to go. We swam in a 'warm spring.' In all reality, it was disgusting. Algae everywhere and the water was only slightly warmer than the air. I was pretty sure that my swimming suit was going to be dyed green forever. (But it wasn't. Thank heavens!) We went to this lovely lady's art gallery and house on the Teton Golf Course. It was called the Hennes Gallery and it was marvelous! Her work is truly amazing! She was so sweet and gave us a tour of her home so we could see all of the things she had acquired in her travels of the world. If you were to ask the residents about her house, they would all probably mention her bath tub. It was MASSIVE!!!! We are talking hot tub sized!

Anyways, she was so sweet and inspiring for many of the residents! Even my outdoor kids liked it! That made me happy! Then we went to Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum and I could have stayed there longer than I did for sure. (2.5 hours) It was really cool. I loved it and I am pretty sure that was one of my favorite parts of the trip! Overall, it was a really fun trip and it made our community better for sure!
Well the week after that was interesting because I had so much to do and soooo little time! I left the following Friday to go home and then.....Off to go cruising!!

So, Friday night/Saturday morning at 12:45am our plane left Salt Lake City airport and headed to Atlanta, Georgia. Not gonna lie, it was a pretty miserable flight. I didn't really care because of where we were headed. I had a middle seat and I am fully convinced that is the reason the flight was terrible. Then we had a 2 hour layover in Florida, which is just enough time to get off one plane and on the next. We did exactly that and flew to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where we ate breakfast, then took a shuttle to the port. It was so exciting and there were so many people. They stopped and searched Megan's carry on bag for something... they never found anything, but then Grandma took a picture and they made her delete it!! It was sooo funny!! Then we started the process or loading the ship. We went and got our sea cards and our pictures taken, and fill out paper work. Then we got our picture taken as a family and started the waiting process. We saw Fiona, from Shrek, in the distance greeting people. When it was our turn, we got on the ship and we were amazed at how cool it was! It was like we stepped onto our own little planet! It was beautiful and huge!! I didn't know this until we got on the ship, but we were on the biggest cruise ship in the entire world! So the modern day Titanic minus the tragedy. Royal Caribbean: Oasis of the Seas! And thus started our Royall Caribbean!
We couldn't get into our rooms at first because they weren't ready, so we decided (along with our 6,000 new friends) that we were going to eat. We went to the buffet and they had wonderful desserts. (You will hear about the desserts always.) The food was pretty good too. Then we were able to get into our rooms. Megan and I stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. It was fun! The rooms were really small. Like REALLY SMALL. But that didn't matter because we didn't spend much time there anyways. Then we went exploring! The ship blew my mind!!! I couldn't believe that it floated!! Well, then we swam for a couple hours and then went to the Sail Away party when we left port at 5pm (so we had the entire day on the ship really). We had our first dinner on the ship and our first donuts and our first lots of things, because it was our first day. But we had fun! Also, free arcade games for the night! I played lots of Skeeball and I won a race!
The next morning we woke up early and went to breakfast with some characters from Madagascar because we are all mature. But really, we loved it and I am pretty sure we were the only family that didn't have a child under 7 there. It was cool. This day we had a ship day and it was soooooo fun! We explored and explored some more. We went ice skating. Yes, the ship had an ice rink! It was a good time! I love ice skating! Then we went and watched the flow rider. Then we went to Hairspray the Musical! It was pretty good! I enjoyed it! A lot. Megan, Jake, and I wandered the ship aimlessly for a while. We wandered Central Park and ate some delicious desserts including mini key lime pies! They were delicious! We also found living birds on the ship. Yes, there were living birds on the cruise ship! It was awesome!! Then it was formal night for dinner! :D We looked super classy! Then after dinner the adults were supposed to go to a Comedy Show, but Megan forgot her Seapass card, so I had to go let her in our room. Then I was running to the show and we didn't get seats. I was bummed for like a minute, but then I heard that it wasn't even good. So whatever. We just wandered the ship for a while. We watched the end of the diving show from like 7 decks above and a bird flew into the wall and died. It was the weirdest thing. Then we went to bed.
Day 3! That's right we are only to day 3!! By this time I felt like I had lived my whole life of the ship! And let me tell you, I wish I could actually do that! We went to the buffet for breakfast we got a view! A beautiful view of Haiti! It is a gorgeous island! We snorkeled for a couple of hours on the island and then we ate lunch and swam. Tyson played on the Ocean Water Park with the Dagleys and the McFees. When they got off, they found a squid. Then we walked back to the ship and spent the rest of the night on the ship! I love the water!!!! When we got back on the ship, Jake and I tried the knee boarding flow rider. It was fun! We both did it a couple of times and when we were walking back to our rooms we ran into the Penguins of Madagascar! We got all showered and ready and skipped dinner, because it interfered with our show that night. We went to Johnny Rockets for dinner, which is always delicious! Then we went to the diving show on the ship and it was so cool!! Then the Sports Staff did a show on the flow rider. They did some really cool tricks! I really enjoyed it! Then Megan and I went exploring again. There is a lot of ship to explore! My favorite thing that happened was when we were in the elevator and Megan was pretending like she was a dinosaur or something and she was looking in the mirror making some strange noise. When the elevator doors opened and these guys were standing outside of the doors. They just gave us a strange look and walked away from the door. It was hilarious.
The next day we were in Jamaica! Jamaica has a fun atmosphere, but it really does smell like weed. Badly. We just shopped in Jamaica. It was really, really hot that day. Like blazing hot. So, we decided we would just go get on the ship and do some things while people were in Jamaica. I tried the stand up flow rider and did the zip line 3 times! It was really fun! Then we went to the $10 sale on the ship and I bought 3 scarves that are beautiful!! Then we had dinner and went to another show. It was pretty good but the most entertaining part was the random lady that was sitting between me and Tyson. She was going crazy during the show. It was pretty entertaining.
Ship day was next. We swam and played with beach balls in the main pool and sometimes they fell like 6 floors into Central Park. It was fun! Then we went to the International Belly Flop Competition! It was so funny! I really enjoyed it! Then the diving cast put on a comedy diving/synchronized swimming show. It was a fun show to see! Then I rode the flow rider, played mini golf, and rode the other flow rider! We went to dinner, it was another formal night, and then went to the ice skating show. It was incredible! 1 guy did multiple back flips on ice skates! Also, there was this really cool part that was sand art and it was really cool! I have never seen anything like it before.
This is Halloween!! Happy Halloween everyone because it was a happy Halloween for me! It started with us in Cozumel, Mexico! We went snorkeling in out in the ocean! Like we took a boat out and it was beautiful! It was so fun! We saw tons of fish and a sting ray... from a distance, but we still saw it! AHHHHH!! It was so cool and I could have been out there all day long! When we were done, we went back to the ship showered and then went exploring in Cozumel! It was soo hot that we thought we were going to die for a little while! But it was pretty and fun! I got tons of things that I have wanted for a long time! Then back on the ship we went! We put on our costumes, we were Cavemen, and went to the Haunted House they had on the 3rd deck. It was okay. Not really scary but they tried. Then we went to on the carousel and went to dinner and then headed to the Halloween celebration. Then it turned into a dance party. Megan and I stayed for a little bit, but then we went to play ping pong and then wandered around dressed as cavemen for a little while then went to bed.
Last day. :( It was sad so I chose not to think about it! I finally climbed the rock wall! It was hard. Than I swam and hung out at the knee boarding flow rider almost all day by myself. Then I watched the best of the best competition on the flow rider because Chase came in 2nd place. Then we went and got ready for dinner and packed our bags because they had to be sent away while we were at dinner. Then we took some pictures and hung out. The next morning we got off the ship pretty early in the morning and then we spent the entire day at the airport in Florida. It was fun! NOT. Well, sorta. We played BINGO, ate lunch, played cards, caught up on the world that we missed for a week (but didn't really miss), we dressed up Megan as Nacho Libre! It was a long day.
Did I mention we were on the biggest ship in the world?
Haiti
Jamaica
