Live. Learn. Teach.

In many schools around the nation, students are being given computers for educational purposes. Technology in the classroom is a big deal! Especially because technology is such a large part of our lives right now! I think blogging is a great way for teachers, students, and parents to collaborate! There are many different types of educational blogs that can be used by teachers!
There are the types of teacher blogs that are for teacher to teacher collaboration. Where teachers share their ideas and the execution of their ideas on their blogs for other teachers to use and modify.

Other teachers use blogs for their students purpose only. Many times the teachers will post students work online and have their peers review it or comment on it. This is an easy way to allow students to share their work and see other's work. It gets the ideas flowing and I honestly think that if students know that their work is going on the blog for everyone to see, they will give you nothing but their best. Every time. Plus, it saves paper! :) How great is that?!

Some teachers use blogs to give homework. (That ways students can't lose it!) They use it for creative writing and exploration!

There are so many different ways you can blog as a teacher and I love seeing teacher's blogs! There are some blogs that show what they are doing in the classroom! This is a great resource for parents! Now parents can check in on what their students are learning and what is happening in the classroom! Many teachers use pictures and all!

I think blogging in the classroom is something that can be a very useful tool, as long as it is used correctly. When I become a teacher, I hope that I will be able to appropriately use technology in the classroom, but also not overuse it. Never underestimate the power of a good book! :)
